The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in November and awarded $30,698 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to eight individuals/families from O’Fallon, Silex, Troy, Warrenton, and Wright City, including support to help a disabled woman with electrical repairs and another disabled gentleman with expenses related to medical needs. Several weatherization grants were awarded to individuals in need of HVAC replacement/repair.
Community organizations that received grants included:
- 10-78 Project — $5,000 to fund the organization’s programs that help with trauma relief for police officers and their families who have been involved in an officer-involved shooting.
- Lincoln County R-III Education Foundation — $1,000 to fund the purchase of a hearing screening device for children.
- Lincoln County Veterans’ Coffee Talk — $1,500 to help support veterans in need of transportation to doctor appointments.
- LINC St. Charles — $2,500 to support the organization’s emergency assistance programs to aid in the prevention of homelessness.
- First Step Back Home — $3,000 to help the organization provide emergency lodging for the homeless.
- St. Vincent de Paul Society-Immaculate Conception Dardenne— $2,300 to help families in need of home repairs.
- Missouri Hills Apartments — $3,500 to support the replacement of flooring for the non-profit organization’s low-income housing.
