Cuivre River Electric Cooperative has selected six students to attend this year’s Missouri Electric Cooperative CYCLE (Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience) scheduled for July 21-23 in Jefferson City.

Local delegates who will represent CREC are:

Elsberry High School

Christine Wehmeyer

Liberty Christian Academy

Sophi Mueller

Brody Kuehn

Liberty High School

Grace Richardson

Emma Thomas

Megan Geisler

A number of speakers and other activities are planned throughout the conference as some of the brightest young leaders across the state are brought together.

The annual contest is open to high school sophomores who live and attend school in CREC’s general service area, or who have the co-op’s service in their homes. As part of the application process, sophomore students were asked to submit a narrative about their school activities and community service.

The CYCLE program is in its 19th year and is a past recipient of the National Community Youth Service award for the top youth program among all electric cooperatives in the country. Since 2004, Cuivre River has sponsored and provided more than 60 students with a continued focus on youth leadership and educational opportunities at CYCLE.
