The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in September and awarded $21,185 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 16 individuals/families from O’Fallon, Troy, Warrenton, Wentzville, and Winfield, including support for outdoor sensory play equipment and indoor safe accessory storage for a family with autistic children, and help with funding security cameras for a family with an autistic child with a wandering risk. Community organizations that received grants included:
First Step Preschool — $1,076 to help update a classroom’s storage cabinets at this preschool that serves low-income and foster families.
The Winfield Well — $3,000 to support the construction of an ADA ramp for the organization’s community center building.
Foley Baptist Church — $3,000 to help fund restocking the organization’s food pantry.
Veteran’s Coffee Talk — $3,000 to support the organization’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner for those veterans in need.
Clopton Hawk Booster Club — $1,000 to support the purchase of equipment for the school’s new concession stand.
Restore St. Charles — $2,500 for helping the organization with their program to build or repair entryways for those faced with changes in mobility.
The Grace Period — $350 to support the organization’s transitional housing program.
