The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in May and awarded $34,284 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 11 individuals/families from Bowling Green, Lake Saint Louis, O’Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters, Troy, and Warrenton, including support for a single mother in need of eyeglasses, sending two developmentally disabled individuals to attend Camp Wonderland this summer and helping a developmentally disabled individual with a driving assessment. Community organizations that received grants included:
- Lincoln County Council on Aging — $1,000 to help fund collapsible coolers for the organization’s mobile Meals Matters program.
- Earthwise Industries — $2,900 to replace an exit door at the organization’s facility that provides meaningful work for mentally and physically disabled adults.
- Bright Futures/Bowling Green R-1 School District — $5,000 to help fund free/reduced price meals for homeless students/students in need.
- Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service — $6,500 to support the organization’s program to help homeless individuals in our service area.
- Our Lady’s Inn — $1,000 to help buy smoke/carbon monoxide detectors for the residential maternity and aftercare support home for unhoused pregnant women and their children.
- Habitat for Humanity — $5,000 for the organization’s 2025 build season for a community of 46 townhomes in Wentzville.
- Adopt-a-Family Ministry — $1,000 for the organization’s Nurse’s Needs program, which supplies personal care items for students in need.
- Feeding on Faith — $500 to fund the organization’s program to provide meals to the underserved in our service areas.
- Rural Parish Clinic — $2,500 for supplies and materials for the organization’s mobile dental clinic.
