The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in December and awarded $24,947 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 13 individuals and families from Foley, Lake Saint Louis, O’Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters, Troy, Warrenton, Winfield, and Wright City, and included helping a developmentally disabled young adult with the purchase of a tablet to help with communication and supporting a disabled retiree with funding for new eyeglasses.
Community organizations that received grants included:
• Loving Hands Transportation — $5,000 to help with the transportation program for participants at BCI, Inc., for developmentally disabled individuals.
• St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired — $2,500 to help support medical care for those with low vision.
• Feeding on Faith — $3,000 in support of a food truck to bring meals to those with limited physical ability.
• Emmaus Homes, Inc. — $1,000 to help fund automatic faucets and soap dispensers in the facility’s washrooms to help with accessibility for the disabled.
• Warrenton Lions Club — $1,000 to help with repairs to the organization’s building.
Holiday grants of $500 each were awarded on behalf of each Operation Round Up trustee to these community organizations:
• Lincoln County Veterans Coffee Talk
• The Terry L. Robertson Center
• St. Louis Crisis Nursery - Wentzville
• St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry – New Melle (2)
• Turning Point Advocacy Services
• Warren County R-III School District Care Day Program
