The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in April and awarded $25,043 in grants funded through Operation Round Up.

Health grants were awarded to 13 individuals/families from Bowling Green, Paynesville, St. Charles, Troy, Warrenton, Wentzville, and Winfield including support for a developmentally disabled individual to attend Camp Wonderland this summer; a power recliner for a disabled senior with degenerative disc disease, and a new bed and mattress for an autistic child in need. A weatherization grant was awarded to a disabled individual in need of a roof repair for their mobile home.

Community organizations that received grants included:
Twin Pike Family YMCA — $1,000 to help fund the organization’s before and after school program.
Alleluia Baskets — $1,000 to support the organization’s Easter program in which Easter baskets are filled with items and delivered to children in need and adult seniors.
Wright City Parks Foundation — $5,000 to help fund the construction of a new batting cage for the parks’ facility.
Wright City Police Department — $5,000 to support the department’s drone program, which helps to locate citizens in need, abscond felons, and wide area monitoring during operations.
