Tree Line USA
The Arbor Day Foundation has named Cuivre River Electric Cooperative a Tree Line USA Utility for the nineth consecutive year. The award recognizes Cuivre River's national leadership in caring for trees while meeting electric service objectives, according to Dan Lambe of the Foundation.
"Your effort in meeting Tree Line USA requirements - training workers in quality tree care practices and helping members plant appropriate trees near utility lines - helps provide beautiful trees for the future and long-term operational savings for the cooperative," Lambe adds.
To achieve the designation, Cuivre River continues to meet three core criteria: providing a quality tree care program, annual worker training in quality tree care practices, and a public education and tree planting program.
"Tree Line USA utilities deserve recognition for their commitment to providing safe, efficient service while helping protect and preserve community trees," says John Rosenow, Chief Executive of the Arbor Day Foundation.
A key objective of the Tree Line USA program is to replace the line-clearance practice of topping trees with natural pruning. This practice allows trees to retain more of their natural form and supports tree health.
Tree Line USA is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters.
