During A Lightning Storm
• Unplug appliances not necessary for obtaining weather information.
• Avoid using any electrical appliances. (Use telephones ONLY in an emergency.)
• Stay away from sinks, corded phones any appliances that use electricity (lightning can travel through wiring and water pipes).
• Keep away from windows and open doors.
• Turn off air conditioners. Power surges from lightning can overload compressors.
