What's new in 2010
The absentee voting period has been expanded to July 6 — August 12. Last year's smooth and successful introduction of this new voting method paved the way. "We were very cautious when we developed our time line last year," says Hurd. "It was a new opportunity for our members and a new process for us. We were able to protect the integrity of the ballot and evaluate member participation. Now we can expand the voting period," he adds.

There are three ways to vote:
Vote by mail. Call or e-mail a ballot request (available in July). Ballot kits can be mailed July 6 — August 4. Members may review the material, complete their ballots at home, and mail or deliver them to a Cuivre River office by August 12.
Vote in the office. Stop by any Cuivre River office July 6 — August 12 to request and cast your ballot.
Vote at the meeting. Register and receive a ballot on annual meeting day at the Family Arena 4:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m. Use secure ballot receptacles before the meeting, or vote during the meeting.

"The process we developed last year protects the integrity of the election, and allows one vote per member/household," says Hurd. You may vote absentee and still attend the meeting. If your ballot was received absentee, you will not receive a second ballot.
