Cuivre River Electric Cooperative 2010 Annual Meeting
Preparations In Progress For Annual Meeting
Efforts to prepare for the August 13 Annual Meeting at the Family Arena, St. Charles, kick into high gear this month.
The deadline to place names in nomination for the Board of Directors has closed. The Nominating Committee will soon post a slate of candidates in Cuivre River offices. Candidate biographies will be printed in the August Current Times and provided with absentee voting materials.
The absentee voting task force has finalized voting procedures. Expanded voting opportunities for members who cannot attend the meeting begin July 6.
Members may request absentee ballots by phone, online (Absentee Voting Kit Request) and in person July 6 - August 4 if they wish to receive a ballot by mail. They may also vote at Cuivre River offices July 6 - August 12, the absentee voting deadline.
Those who can attend the Cuivre River Annual Meeting will receive a complimentary meal. Members can visit the information booths and talk to Cuivre River Energy Experts.
Entertainment will be provided by The Rough Ryders of O'Fallon, Mo. The local group headed by Russ Kasper of Brewskeez West Sports Bar, O'Fallon, delivers a Nashville musical experience to Cuivre River's Annual Meeting stage. Comprised of professional musicians who tour with recording artists Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins and Mark Willis, the group brings original sounds from today's country music artists and concert performance experience from across the United States. Kasper satisfies traditional country music enthusiasts; co-lead singer Nathan Aaron Orr interprets a new generation of country sound. "Growing up, you practice hard to preserve the honor and integrity of each note," says fiddle player Jim Ed Hodges. "When you find a group of individuals who have done the same in their musical journey, it makes for a very enjoyable experience." The Rough Ryders will take the stage at 6:30 p.m.
Attendance prizes to be announced in August. Children can expect a visit from the cooperative's safety mascot, Buddy Bear, as well.
