Absentee Voting Begins July 6

Vote at Cuivre River offices July 6 - August 12. To request mail delivery, call or complete an online request form by August 4.

Members who wish to vote in the director election but are unable to attend the August 13 annual meeting at the Family Arena in St. Charles may vote absentee beginning July 6.

On that date absentee ballots and voting materials will be available to members who visit a Cuivre River office, and to members requesting a ballot by mail. To obtain a ballot kit by mail, call 800.392.3709, ext. 200 or complete an online request form at www.cuivre.com.

To vote or request a ballot in person visit Cuivre River offices at 1112 E. Cherry St., Troy, or 8757 Hwy. N, Lake Saint Louis. Lobby hours are weekdays 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Drive-up hours to pick up or deliver ballots are 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. in Troy, and 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. in Lake Saint Louis.

"All requests to receive a ballot by mail should be made by August 4, the last day we believe we can mail kits and receive them back by August 12," says Manager of Member Services Kevin Hurd. Voting in person and ballot collection at Cuivre River offices will continue through the close of business on August 12.

Identification will be required to obtain an absentee voting kit, which includes a ballot, secure ballot envelope, return envelope, signature card, instructions and candidate information. No Bylaw Amendments are proposed on the ballot this year.

A member may only request a ballot for his/her own account. Ballots will not be released to a person who is not registered with the account or to other family members or neighbors.

In accordance with Cuivre River Bylaws, only one ballot is permitted per membership, regardless of the number of names on an account, meters associated with an account, or amount of energy purchased.

Absentee ballots will not be accepted at the meeting, but members who vote absentee may still attend. "Meeting registration procedures will indicate if members have voted in advance," says Hurd. "You may still attend, but will not receive another ballot."
