Youth Tour Delegates, Scholarship Recipients

Twelve finalists recently competed for Youth Tour delegate spots and scholarships during Cuivre River's 45th Annual Youth Tour Competition for high school juniors. They were chosen from 249 entries representing 19 local high schools. Judges and guests enjoyed students' speeches on the 2013 topic, “Cooperative Principles Make a Difference in My Community.” Public speaking was the third and final component of the event. Read more…

Operation Round Up Grant Assists DASA

Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) received a $1,000 Operation Round Up grant to provide scholarships to help local children with disabilities attend Camp WeCanDU June 16-21 at Babler State Park in Wildwood. Camp WeCanDU introduces disabled youth to “FUNctional” activities that have therapeutic benefits for strength, range of motion, increased endurance and mobility independence, according to DASA Executive Director Kelly Behlmann.
