Vote Absentee After July 1
On July 1 absentee voting begins for director candidates and proposed bylaw amendments on the 2015 ballot.
"This is a great option for members who want to make certain they vote, but may not be able to attend the August 14 meeting," says Kevin Hurd, Manager of Member Services.
To vote absentee: (1) request a voting kit by August 7 for mail delivery, or (2) visit a Cuivre River office July 1 - August 13 to vote in person or pick up a voting kit. Call (800) 392-3709, ext. 200 to request a ballot, or visit www.cuivre.com to complete an online request form. Be prepared to provide identification to obtain your ballot.
Ballots must be returned to a Cuivre River office by the close of business on August 13. Offices are located at 1112 E. Cherry St., Troy, and 8757 Hwy. N, Lake Saint Louis. Lobby hours are weekdays 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Drive-up hours are 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. in Troy, and 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. in Lake Saint Louis.
Cuivre River bylaws permit one ballot per membership, regardless of the number of names on an account, meters associated with an account, or amount of energy purchased.
Regarding ballot requests, Hurd reminds all members, "You may only request a ballot for your own account." Ballots may not be released to a person who is not registered on the account, family members or neighbors.
Absentee ballots are not accepted at the meeting, but if you vote absentee you may still attend.
