Absentee Voting For Directors Now Open
Members may begin voting absentee for director candidates July 1. "This is a great option for members who want to make certain they vote, but may not be able to attend the August 8 meeting," says Kevin Hurd, Manager of Member Services.
To vote absentee: (1) visit a Cuivre River office July 1 - August 7 to vote in person or get a voting kit, or (2) request a voting kit by August 1 for mail delivery. Call 800.392.3709, ext. 200 or visit www.cuivre.com to complete an online request form.
Identification is required to obtain an absentee voting kit.
Ballots must be returned to a Cuivre River office by the close of business August 7. Offices are located at 1112 E. Cherry St., Troy, and 8757 Hwy. N, Lake Saint Louis. Lobby hours are weekdays 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Drive-up hours are 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. in Troy, and 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. in Lake Saint Louis.
Cuivre River bylaws permit one ballot per membership, regardless of the number of names on an account, meters associated with an account, or amount of energy purchased. Regarding absentee ballot requests, Hurd reminds all members, "You may only request a ballot for your own account." Ballots may not be released to a person who is not registered on the account, to other family members, or to neighbors.
Absentee ballots are not accepted at the meeting, but if you vote absentee you may still attend.
The Nominating Committee has finalized a slate of candidates for the August 8 director election:
Lincoln County District 1
Nick C. Baskerville
Warren County District 3
St. Charles County District 4
St. Charles County District 5
G. Thomas Oxler
Sean P. McManus
More candidate information will appear in the August Current Times. Members may vote for one candidate in each district.
